The reincarnation of Alfred E. Neumann

Courtesy of my father in law, this most excellent animated GIF.

Anyone know of apps which can create or edit animated GIFs on the Macintosh? I'd love to resize all the frames on here to 100 px so that I can use this as a userpic...

Adobe ImageReady is the canonical tool for animated GIFs, but if you don't have the cash for the Adobe Suite, I spotted this freeware tool on Versiontracker:

Dude, you rawk, man. I'm so appreciative that you see these Mac posts and hit me with links to exactly the juice I'm looking for.

Yo Broseph,
You may want to check out GIMP.
There's a good tutorial there on what you're trying to do.

Geez man, that's like the program I've been looking for forever! Thanks for the link. I resized the GIF to 100x85 in like three seconds, but unfortunately the file is still too large, so I'll have to scale it down again in some other way.

Thanks for the great hang this weekend, too. I'll have more to say about that when I get a chance (I finished tearing out the bottom portion of the deck today -- it took me 4.5 hours and I'm super bagged and sore now as a result), but in the meantime, thanks again for coming. We all really enjoyed having you here.

Thanks for having me! It was an awesome time. It's too bad we didn't get to the deck and you got stuck doing it yourself. Did you rip up the entire thing?

GIMP is pretty cool eh? I remember using it back when I tried to learn Linux.

Not the entire thing, just the bottom portion. But that was a complete job: it included clean-up afterwards and stacking the waste wood, which was plentiful; you wouldn't believe all the crap that was underneath that deck, too.

Tomorrow I'm working on the top part and also getting another price quote on materials from a different supplier. Hopefully I can get the materials delivered over the weekend and build the sucker next week. Hoping for good weather...

You should send some pictures over fo real. And I'd better get some credit here too, after all I tore up like 2 or 3 boards there.
